Demon
You are nothing more than,
A devil, a demon,
You haunt my past,
You’re destroying my future.
Like the snake that tempted Eve,
You tempt and taunt me too,
One minute there, the next gone,
Always dancing just out of my grasp.
What’ll it take,
For you to stop the torture?
I can’t live forever like this,
A kid wanting something she can’t have.
You horrid, impetuous viper,
Your smile radiant, even in my dreams,
You dance along, tippy-toeing,
Just waiting to see how much I’ll believe.
Your eyes sparkle mischievously,
It must be obvious how much I want you,
Well too bad, demon,
I’ve become an angel you shall never have.
