Bitter Memories
Is it worth it to live
if you’re never fully alive?
To walk this earth as a zombie
Preying on the souls of those more fortunate
Until you’ve taken all they can give
It will never be enough
Your desires will never be satisfied by
anything we say or do
you gripped the edge of the cliff and
I held my hand out and
For a second, you held on
But then you missed the thrill you’d felt before
And let go
I don’t think you realized that
By letting yourself fall, you
Pulled the rest of us down
With you.
