Drought for tears

he said that
he would be there when she needed him
but she didn’t know the words to ask, and
she believed that when your heart broke
there was a special vein for the blood to travel through and
in the process, it turned clear
and when enough feelings condense
the tears shower from your eyes like they’re clouds
monsoon storms
and she was
the only one wishing for a drought to come
ecause the way she’s been crying
her heart has never had a chance to heal
