Memories of you
I would wake up and
drink bitter black coffee and
think about him sweetening its taste
And I would play my guitar and
think about him listening to the shitty songs I played
And I would go on a walk and wish he was there to hold my hand
and the wind would comb dandelion seeds through my hair and
I would wish for him
And I would laugh but only half-heartedly because
only he can make me crack up
And I would run and run and run
trying to leave him behind
a forgotten phantom that continues to haunt me
but he would follow me everywhere I went
a reflection of a different me,
a mirror of the person I once was.
