Masked Feelings
I stand at a distance and I can see your eyes
How you live your life
I can see through their lies
The masks they wear are weak and tear
They break apart...
Such pathetic art
As I watch you, the feelings pursue
Yet shyness holds me back
My life is nothing but black
Yet you can't see, the mask I wear
The mask that is me
Waiting at a distance
The mask is not seen
But if you ever see the mask that is me
Would you ever let me know?
Is it ridiculous, only a school girl's dream?
To think that perhaps these feelings of mine would ever be shared?
That they would ever grow?
I know, I know...
I shouldn't dream of such things
I shouldn't hope for such impossibilities
But...
I do
Though will my feelings ever be allowed to grow?
Will they be set free?
Or will they be forever trapped behind this mask?
