Captivated

I lay in my bed awake at night,
just to see if I can get a glimpse
of the stars
You once told me to dream big,
don’t let fear take over…
but now I am captivated by my fears
and never dream
about the pointless future
I lay in my bed captivated
by the things that shine so brightly
and fade ever so slightly,
but no one seems to notice…
