Slowly
I promise myself
I will never fall in love again
I promise myself I will never break again
We were two different fingerprints
But somehow we matched so
Gracefully
Our hearts beat off one another
He was the moon while
I was the sun
He was the better half of me
He was the missing puzzle piece I lost
But he
Slowly
Took
Pieces of me
First, my elbow
Then my hair
My cheek
My lips
Slowly
He took the parts of me
I have far lost forgotten about
The parts of myself
That have been stolen
He shattered every waking bone
In my body
Slowly
I am picking up the broken pieces
He carried away with her
Slowly
I realized
I needed to let go
Discover
New fragments
Of myself
A seashell as
My elbow
So I can hear the peaceful crashing of the waves
A dandelion as
My hair
So I can blow all my fears away
But also make all my dreams come true
A rose petal as
My cheek
To remind myself I am as sensitive
As a delicate rose petal
The soft howling wind as
My lips
For no one has
Or Will
Touch or
Kiss
A shield for my heart
So I will guard it forever from harm
He stole parts
Of
Myself
From
Me
He can keep them
To remind himself
How
Elegant
Beautiful
Fragile
Delicate
Love
Can
Be
