My Hearts Distraction

You’re my hearts distraction; a space filler; a time killer.
Never someone I’d really want.
So I took you, used you, teased you, lead you on.
You were just my temporary until I found the real thing.
So why do I care so much? Why do I cry?
Why are you always on my mind? Why do I continually try?
Why does it hurt so badly now that you’ve left?
Because you were my only reminder of what it feels like to love.
