My soul

My soul is the ocean
Going on for as long as the eye can see
Yet it has boundaries,
Whether gentle like a sandy beach
Or as sharp and defined as the face of a cliff.
My soul is a feather
Soft to the touch
And going where the wind takes if
My soul is a storm
Coming and going
Flaring up when you least expect it
And calming down without warning
My soul is a tree
Ever standing,
It rises off the ground
Never giving in
Until it is time to leave the world
And above all
My soul
Is human
