dreams of a girl in the meadow

She sat cross-legged in the windy meadow
quiet as a field mouse
on the outside
but
inside her heart
her mind was
exploding
with adventures and
dreams
she
dreamed
of the conquests
of
brilliant soldiers
and
she dreamed
of
a tiny blue baby
that would
never
grow
old
but as she picked delicate
white flowers
from the dirt
she
dreamed
that she could
love
