He was the Ink.
the ink that glides
Across the page.
He faded with age,
His beautiful script forgotten,
Replaced by a messy hand.

She was the Paper,
Pale and fragile,
Easily torn,
Often worn.

Ink and Paper.
Alone they are nothing,
Together they were something.
Something that changed.
Changed with time.

Wow! So beautiful! This was an incredibly powerful metaphor to employ, with the exact right audience here on Teen Ink, and the effect overall is just explosive (in the best way!). Side Note: the picture you chose to accompany the poem adds to this intangible wonder created by it. I can't quite put my finger on it, but I am in love with it all the same!
